Expeditions Maasai Safaris Treats A Man Who Mistook A Shopping Bag For a Lion to A 3-Day All-Expenses-Paid Safari in the Maasai Mara.
The Meru man who mistook a shopping bag for a lion has been gifted a 3-day safari in the Mara by the award-winning Expeditions Maasai Safaris.
Franklin Murimi, a farmworker from Meru could not hide his excitement as he received the holiday voucher alongside his employer Mrs. Mugambi both of whom were gifted the holiday.
The two are currently enjoying a 3-day all-expenses-paid land cruiser safari courtesy of the celebrated tour operator who is catering for all the expenses from transport, accommodation, game drives, drinks, and park entrance charges.
Expeditions Maasai Safaris decided to gift the man after his hilarious story went viral. As he narrated, Franklin was sharpening his farm tool in readiness for farm work when he noticed what appeared to be a lion under a flowerbed. He alerted his employer who called KWS to go and take care of the animal. It was when the KWS rangers arrived that they discovered that what was feared to be a lion was actually an image of a lion on a branded shopping bag. It was at this moment that the onlookers, thrilled by the discovery took to social media with photos depicting the hilarious moments.

When receiving the voucher, Franklin had this to say:
"I never thought someone would pay for me to go on a holiday. Even my friends were telling me I was pranking KWS, but I truly had seen the image as a lion. Others were even telling me to stop taking drugs, but I am a Christian and have never taken any drugs."
At the Expeditions Maasai Safaris headquarters in Nairobi during the award ceremony, a grateful Mrs. Mugambi who has employed Franklin to assist with farm work in Meru, added
"We are very grateful to Expeditions Maasai Safaris for this generous and kind gift for me and my farm worker. I will ask all my friends to support you because you are a kind company and welcomed with open arms.โโ
