Proposed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park: (160 km – Approx. 3 hours)

07:00 hrs. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi area hotel, Nairobi airport or Nairobi area residence and head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep for Aberdare.

We’ll head out over the highlands of central Kenya and take breaks to see coffee and tea plantations. Arrive at the hotel by lunch time. Thereafter proceed for an afternoon game drive, followed by nature walk to Karuru and Magura waterfalls. Meal plan: Breakfast Lunch, Dinner.

Dinner and overnight The Ark Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare

On this day after breakfast, you will leave the lodge with a packed picnic lunch for a whole day trekking tour usually accompanied by an armed ranger. You will trek through the moorland, viewing the beautiful hills, valleys, waterfalls, and the wildlife. Meal plan: Breakfast Lunch, Dinner. Dinner and overnight The Ark Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park: (180 km – Approx. 4 Hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

We’ll set out early for the scenic drive to Lake Nakuru Park, stopping to take in the towering majesty of Thompson’s Falls along the way at Nyahururu. Enjoy the scenic views from the farms as you drive through the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley.

Lake Nakuru Park will bring us up close to a bright assortment of birdlife, including flamingoes, cormorants, pelicans, and kingfishers. There is also a large population of black rhino, endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, plus zebra, hippo, baboon, waterbuck, hyena, and sometimes lion and cheetah. Meal plan: Breakfast Lunch, Dinner. Day 4: Nakuru to Maasai Mara (Distance: 280km, Approximate time: 4 hours)

Breakfast at the Hotel followed by a short brief before departure to Maasai Mara. Arrive in Maasai Mara on time for lunch. Check in to the hotel and relax awaiting your first game drive in the evening at the vast Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Day 5/6: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara Game Reserve

A full day is spent at the Maasai Mara game reserve. Driving across the plains in search of the big cats (black manned lions, Cheetahs and leopards with picnic lunch served at the Mara River site. Vast herds of wildebeest, and zebra wander across the Mara. Look out for the annual wildebeest migration

Day 7: Mara to Naivasha (Approximate Distance: 300km, Approximate Time: 4.5 hours)

Breakfast at the hotel then departure for Nakuru crossing through Loita Plains. Arrive on time for Lunch followed by a siesta. After lunch, optional boat riding/horse riding.

Day 8: Naivasha to Tsavo (Approx. Distance:460 km Approx. Time: 8 hours)

Early morning Breakfast at the hotel. Thereafter departure for Tsavo with an enroute game drive. Arrive on time for lunch. Later on, have an evening game drive.

Day 9: Tsavo

Breakfast in the hotel. Then proceed for a full day game drive in the Tsavo West National park with packed lunch. There are well-marked nature trails, an observation platform and an underwater glass tank, which provides a special vantage point to view this remarkable oasis. Return to the hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Meals; Breakfast, Lunch and dinner

Day 10: Tsavo - Diani (Approx. Distance: Tsavo to Voi (46km; 1 hour) Train Ride; 2hours)

Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out. Drop off at the Voi SGR terminus for your train ride to Mombasa. On arrival, our team will pick you and transfer you to your hotel. Arrive in the afternoon. Evening at Leisure

Day 11 and Day 12: Diani Beach

Enjoy the days at the white sand beaches of the Kenyan Coast.

Day 13: Diani to Nairobi (1 Hour flight time)
