Climb Mt Kilimanjaro via Umbwe Route
Duration of climb: 6 ~ 7 days. The Umbwe route is known for its caves. The first night, you actually sleep at the Umbwe Cave Camp with two more caves that can be visited en route the following day. Because of the high risks involved with sleeping at Arrow Glacier camp and summiting via the Western Breach, all our Umbwe route hikes are rerouted, to join with the Machame route from night 2 on the mountain. However, on special request we can assist climbers who would like to summit using the Western Breach or the Arrow Glacier path and overnight at the Crater camp. In such cases, our higher quality standard packages apply. The main itinerary difference between the Umbwe 6-day and 7-day routes is the additional acclimatization day at Barranco Camp.

Climb Mt Kilimanjaro via Rongai route
The Rongai route ascends Kilimanjaro from the north-eastern side of the mountain, along the border between Tanzania and Kenya. This route retains a sense of unspoilt wilderness and offers a different perspective on Kilimanjaro by approaching it from the north. The topography of the route does not allow the application of the climb-high sleep-low principle, and hikers generally suffer more from altitude sickness on the Rongai route compared to other routes (an additional acclimatization day is highly recommended on this route). The Rongai route uses the scree summiting path from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and descends via the Marangu route. The main itinerary difference between the Rongai 6-day and 7-day routes is the additional acclimatization day at Mwenzi Tarn.

Climb Mount Kilimanjaro via Lemosho Route
Duration of climb: 6 ~ 7 days. The Lemosho route is an unspoiled, remote, little-used, and beautiful way up to the Shira Plateau. The route is one of the few where groups may be accompanied on the first day by an armed ranger, as the forests around the Lemosho Glades are inhabited by buffalo, elephant, and other wildlife. The minimum duration for the Lemosho route is 6 days; we strongly recommend hiking the route in 7 days. The additional 7th day will give your body more time to acclimatize, reducing the effects of altitude sickness, and give you more time to rest before attempting the summit

Climb Mt Kenya via Naro Moru Route
Distance: 40 km Duration of climb: Difficulty: Demanding. The most popular route, although not the most scenic. It is also the fastest route to Point Lenana. Take this classic route up Mount Kenya through the notoriously treacherous vertical bog and into the wide Teleki Valley beneath the Tryndall, the Lewis Glacier. Though the summit can be reached in 4 days as per the itinerary below, we strongly recommend an overnight acclimatization at the base, Naromoru River Lodge. This can be arranged for an extra fee.

6 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour, Marangu Route - Expeditions Maasai Safaris
Popularly known as the ‘Coca-Cola’ route, the Marangu Route is considered one of the easiest routes to the summit of Kilimanjaro. The gradual slope of the path makes it ideal for any climbers who don’t want an arduous journey. Although a less scenic route than other routes, it is the most well-established route on Kilimanjaro and is the only route that offers huts for accommodations instead of just camping. This western route will take you to the Marangu Gate through to Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut, Kibo Hut, and then finally Uhuru Peak. Accommodation: On the mountain, you will be staying overnight in dormitory-style huts, with some camps having running water and flushing toilets. Expeditions Maasai Safaris can organize accommodation for you the night before and after, as well as the transport to and from your accommodation on both days.

6 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour, Machame Route - Expeditions Maasai Safaris
Kilimanjaro's Machame route is one of the most popular routes to take when climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. This is because it is a very scenic route while also being more budget-friendly than some of the longer hikes. As such, the traffic on this route is denser than on others. Popularly known as the whisky route, the 6-day Kilimanjaro climbing tour through the Machame route is a little tougher than other routes (such as the Marangu Route). However, the success rate for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro using the Machame route is higher! This route takes you through dense rainforest to Shira Plateau, past the lava tower and Barranco Hut, then onto Barafu before you summit. You will descend via a different route, the Mweka Route. Accommodation: On the mountain, you will be staying overnight at tented campsites. Expeditions Maasai Safaris can organize accommodation for you the night before and after, as well as the transport to and from your accommodation both days.
